a little bit of everything!

First Of all G had a great birthday. He loves his big boy bed and we have had no issues getting him to sleep in it. I will post pictures soon blogger is having issues.

Second, the ECI people came out yesterday for our last meeting before we finally start him in the program. Who knew this would be such a long drawn out process. Anyway we will be seeing the therapist once a week for an hour. I am also going to have to find a new GI DR for him, as his reflux is really acting up again. I think maybe he has become immune to his current meds since he has been on them so long. The problem is there are no pediatric GI's here, so we will have to drive to Dallas, I am thinking we may find an allergist there as well and he and I will just make a day of it. The only problem, what to do with L, and how to get H and Step son from school. I can take L with my I guess if I have to, but that still doesn't solve the school problem. We sure need some friends. But I will figure it out.

Yesterday was H's first day of dance and she loved it. Tonight will be L's first night and I am hopeful that she will be as happy with it. We still haven't heard anything about a MDO program for L we are on a wait list and I am hopeful that we will hear something next week. This was the first week of school so I figure maybe next week we will know something.

This month is Childhood Cancer Awareness month,

The Facts of Childhood Cancer
Cancer remains the number one disease that claims the lives of our children. Each year cancer kills more children under the age of 20 than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined.
Each year in the U.S., approximately 12,500 children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer. That’s the equivalent of two average size classrooms diagnosed each school day.
Today, nearly 80 percent of children diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors and the majority of them are considered cured. In the early 1950s, less than 10 percent of childhood cancer patients could be cured.
Leukemias, tumors of the brain and nervous system, the lymphatic system, kidneys, bones and muscles are the most common childhood cancers.
In the U.S., cancer remains responsible for more deaths from one year through adolescence than any other disease; more deaths than asthma, diabetes, cystic fibrosis and AIDS combined.
Combined, the cancers of children, adolescents and young adults to age 20 are the sixth most common cancer in the U.S.
Breakthroughs in pediatric oncology will undoubtedly continue to progress the diagnosis and treatment of adult cancers. Many of the principles in therapy used today in treating adults were first developed and tested for children.
